The Really Fun Parts of being State Representative

November 18, 2016

There are many things that we as State Representatives are asked to do and I enjoy most of them (not real big on the big “to do” social things).  Yesterday and today I was involved in some of my favorite work, and that is, welcoming new business to my district!

First of all, though it lies JUST a few yards out of my district, I was honored to be asked to speak at the groundbreaking ceremony of the Wilco Farms/Hazelnut Growers of Oregon hazelnut processing plant in Donald.  I have always wanted to do the “gold shovel” thing and I got to!

Then today I was asked to be one of the “ribbon holders” as Terry Ricker and his wife Lana “re-opened” Mr. Video on River Road in Keizer!  That was pretty cool and I was so excited that Terry and Lana were able to stay in Keizer as they have become quite integral to our little city!
