The Left, uncomfortable with God talk, ignores MLK’s deep devotion to Christ

January 18, 2016

I wanted to write something profound about Rev. Martin Luther King (note: he was a “reverend” before he was “Dr.” King) but found this article and realized it said what I was thinking.  Yes, Rev. King was a “social justice” defender, but he was very much a  Gospel of Jesus Christ defender as well.  The media ignores that part.  Politicians (both left and right) ignore that.  They quote from the parts of his speeches that make them feel good but forget the parts that make them uncomfortable.  The Bible.  The Cross.  Jesus.  Those are “offensive” things.  Martin Luther King Jr. was a hero, a great man but also a great man of God.  Let’s not forget that, and not forget the “Reverend” part of Dr. King.
